Hawksmoor soft opening

Thanks to Hawksmoor Guildhall for a great experience at breakfast today.
As expected the welcome was warm, helpful and genuinely felt everyone was happy to be there, even those who've risen at early hours.

Decor and layout 9/10. Nothing to fault, but didn't visit bathroom
Service 10/10. Ever friendly, knowledgeable and happy  both interested and interesting which is unusual.
Food 9/10
Shared the big platter, which was all good. Think I might just gave one all to myself next time.
Best?
Gravy for me, could we have it in cocktail form, the bone marrow at least
Equal 2nd
Bubble - with rib of beef . Genius
Sausage was great, and I don't like normal sausages.
I started with a marmalade cocktail, which felt strangely good even at 09:00. Thought to myself, "treat it like a swig of cough syrup", and seeing as I don't drive or operate heavy machinery it seemed a rational decision to proceed. Was only waiting at the bar 10 minutes waiting for my fellow diner, but felt at ease chatting to the bar staff, enjoyed free wi-fi to check-in.
The restaurant has the look of a gents club, but the feel of a friendly first class lounge at the airport, you just know you're in safe hands. Serious studying of the menu we learn nuggets from 3 separate staff visits, one of which procure an espresso martini. Noticeable is the happy outlook and knowledge of all the staff.
This never comes across as slick or well rehearsed, nobody is trying hard OR too-cool-for school

I have to say that without exception, every single staff member I have dealt with in the flesh or across cyber-space has been nothing short of exceptional. It is like speaking to the owner / manager each time, where not only is nothing too much trouble, but people really seem to care and enjoy sharing their knowledge to ensure the I am having the best possible time.
Maybe it is just my magnetic personality, but it feels like being member "number one" in the best dining club in the world [sure everyone feels the same].

Can't wait for lunch, very soon!

MARMALADE COCKTAIL 7.50
Gin, Campari, Lemon Juice, homemade Orange Bitters & English Marmalade
One of Harry’s from his time at the Savoy in the 1920s, this drink unusually uses
marmalade as an ingredient. We’ve added a splash of Campari to his recipe,
making this eye opener a perfect Aperitif.

we had the top menu - mixed breakfast, with pots of RAF tea
